Dominique called me at GCH at about 5pm to inform me that Haiti was hit by an Earthquake. He requested to speak to Ms. Sandra at that time to tell her of the news. We learned that Ms. Sandra's mom traveled to Haiti on Monday the 11th. She didn't know whether her mom was ok when I left school. The next day we learned she as ok.
That night I got home to find Dominique glued to the television set, switching between CNN and MSNBC. We were in shock and just numb. At about 9pm after we put the boys to bed he began to right a letter. He said we must do something and he did. I said do you want to send it tomorrow morning so we can be sure it is thorough and correct. He wasn't interested. So after he was done, I proof read the letter and he sent it out.
That is how it all started.
